Fairytale Christmas Cruises.......

Now I know what you are probably thinking....It isn't even Summer yet, and here I am thinking about Christmas... I'll explain.

Fred Olsen Cruises have two 'Christmas Market' cruises, on the 29 November, and 10 December.. Both go to the fantastic city of Copenhagen. The question, Why Fred Olsen?? I'll explain, the differeence is in the experience. It is a small company, with  only four ships, that are moderate in size, but lack nothing in service, and facilities. As soon as you set foot onboard, it feels like a 'home away from home, and the 'can-do' attitude of the crew is refreshing. Also, because the ships are moderate in size, the itineraries are more unique than with the larger ships, as Fred Olsen can get into smaller ports, that larger ships can't. With this in mind, that is a definite advantage if you want to visit Scandinavia, as there is a wealth of places of interest, that you just can't see in one visit.......

Now, I remember the story of the 'Little Mermaid' well before Disney turned it into a cartoon, and there is a statue in Copenahgen, dedicated to the story, by Hans Christian Anderson. But that is not the only reason to visit this city, and the others on the cruise itinerary. There is a wealth of opportunity to visit unusual attractions, such as the Van Gogh Museum, and to stroll through the streets of Amsterdam. I would also recomend a vist to Tradsgardsforeningen Park, in Gothenburg.

Tivoli Gardens are well worth a visit, as they have the best ice cream, in my opinion, along with a fantastic amusement park. Tivoli Gardens were founded in 1843, and to date, still aren't finished, as new attractions are added every year.

So, as well as picking up some unique Christmas presents, you have the chance to experince a magical festive Christmas market, and sample amazing seasonal specialities.
